This weekend I had the pleasure to view the night skies from the dark mountains of Pennsylvania.

A beautiful full moon was visible as well as Saturn and Mars early in the evening just before they disappeared below the horizon.

But the most interesting part of the evening for me was viewing the planet Jupiter and it's moons, which looked very much like the photo pictured when viewed through a large pair of 100mm astronomy binoculars. It was truly amazing to stand here on earth and view the moons revolving around Jupiter simply through a pair of binoculars.

Another interesting view was that of passing satellites. Look for what looks to be a star, passing through the sky at a rapid speed. I would advise any avid campers to purchase a pair of these wonderful binoculars for viewing the night skies as I was very impressed. And when your spending significant amounts of time in places where the sky is so dark that the Milky Way can be viewed with the naked eye - it's a real treat to take a gander through a pair of these astronomy binoculars.
